THE number of coronavirus patients who have returned home to be with their families after being successfully treated at Worcestershire's hospitals has reached 500.
The trust, which runs Worcestershire Royal Hospital as well as the Alexander Hospital in Redditch and Kidderminster Hospital, confirmed a total of 500 people had returned home after receiving treatment for coronavirus in its wards.
Worcestershire Acute NHS shared on Twitter on June 22: “500 in Worcestershire,” along with a photo which reads: “500 Covid-19 patients are now back home with their families."
The number of recorded hospital deaths of coronavirus, according to the NHS, at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust’s hospitals stands at 297.
The acute trust confirmed earlier this month that the last of its temporary coronavirus intensive care units had closed down. All affected patients are now being cared for at the main units at Worcestershire Royal and the Alexandra Hospital.
Worcestershire Acute Intensive Care posted on Twitter: "Hoping to leave the last of our temporary ICUs today, and have all of our patients cared for back on our main units at Worcestershire Royal and the Alex.
"It's not the end of the #Covid19 journey, but it's a big milestone."
