AN independent Worcester shop will be closing its doors today after 20 years in the city.

Wise Owl Toys, Worcester will shut its doors today at 5.30pm.

Mark Stewart and his wife Heather have owned the shop in Charles Street for 20 years, however, the pair have said it’s time for them to retire.

Mr Stewart said: “We’re not getting any younger funnily enough. We’re reaching retirement age and decided it was time to retire.

"We have had a blast and loved it. It’s been amazing and we’ve had some wonderful customers over the years.

"Today has been great, we’ve had lots of customers come in and been busy throughout the day.”

The couple will continue selling items such as rulers, pencils, scissors and other stationery on their online shop leftshoponline.co.uk, which sells items for left-handed individuals.

The pair posted on Wise Owl Toys, Worcester, Facebook page today: “And the day is finally here... Today is the last day for Wise Owl Toys (Worcester).

“Fab staff, friendly customers, great suppliers and lots of fun and games along the way.

“We still have some great items left now at 75% OFF, and we also have some cake and freebies to give away (while supplies last).

“So please do come and in and say goodbye to us! And thank you for all your support over the past twenty years, it has been a blast!”
