THERE have been people to celebrate at every step of this pandemic and the subsequent lockdown.
Of course, those working in the NHS have rightly been heaped with praised while lots of other key workers - such as supermarket staff, teachers, bin collectors and many more have all been recognised for doing their part.
However, this weekend people in Worcester quite literally lined up to show their appreciation for another group - our hairdressers.

While the reopening of the pub was greeted with some enthusiasm, the really long, early morning queues were reserved for our barber shops and salons, as many wanted to take advantage of the first day of lockdown restrictions easing to secure that long-awaited trim.
Hopefully seeing the queuing punters was heartening for hairdressers and barbers who have had to step up to the challenge with strict hygiene routines and the donning of protective equipment they could never have imagined needing before.
Another dawning realisation for us, perhaps, of what we’ve previously taken for granted.
