AN AIR ambulance landed on the cliffs and two ambulances and medics were seen whisking a patient away.
Justin Newman, from Southend, who saw the drama unfold, said: "We was coming along where the arcades are and we saw the helicopter come down in the middle of the road so we went up Pier Hill and parked up by Prittlewell Square.
"We walked across the road there and looked down and saw two doctors in orange jump suits and they went down to the ambulance which was parked on the sea shore, they went in the ambulance so I couldn't see what was going on.
"I didn't see anyone go in the ambulance but as the doctor came back to the helicopter the ambulance sped away with emergency blues and twos."
A spokesman for the ambulance service, said: “Two ambulances and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance attended a medical emergency at Adventure Island in Southend shortly after 2pm today.
"The patient was transported by land to Southend Hospital.”
