SIR – In your columns last year I predicted that the terrorist Begum woman would be in this country again very soon even though her crimes were so heinous that the Government rightly removed her British citizenship. I very much regret that I have been proved right.

By allowing her to have yet another legal hearing at the taxpayers’ expense – this time in this country – means that, whatever the decision, she is here to stay as she will not be deported even if she loses, after all, no illegal immigrants are deported.

The Left will trot out the usual slogans “vulnerable” “mental health problems” and “radicalised” and the minute she arrives on a flight paid for by British taxpayers, she will be given priority medical treatment on the NHS, priority housing, lifetime police surveillance, and – as she will never get a job – a lifetime of living on welfare.

I wish the Government well in its appeal but nobody can have any faith in a judicial system so biased in favour of the criminal and happy for such a terrorist to live in the midst of society.

How many innocent people have been murdered by illegal immigrants and others, already known to the police for terrorism? Crime in this country certainly seems to pay.
