HERE’S a round-up of defendants who appeared in Worcester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, July 21.

Rhys Wiggins, from Lyppard Woodgreen, Worcester, has pleaded guilty to drink driving.

He was caught drink driving on May 21 in Whittington Road.

The court heard Wiggins, aged 19, was driving his Renault Scenic and drove into a lamppost and failed to stop.

He blew 45 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The limit is 35mcg.

He was fined £450, has to pay a victim surcharge of £90, court costs of £135 and was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Albert Richardson was in court accused of indecently assaulting a girl under the age of 13.

Richardson, aged 80, of Strensham, will be sent for trial to Worcester Crown Court on Tuesday, August 18.

The court heard it is alleged that between April 17, 1984 and April 16, 1986, Richardson sexually assaulted a girl by asking her to touch and kiss his penis.

Sean Carroll has pleaded guilty to threatening a police sergeant.

Carroll, of Fownes Hotel, City Walls Road, has admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words that could have led the police sergeant to think he would be violent towards him on November 30 last year.

The 46-year-old was sentenced to 10 weeks in prison, suspended for three months.

He has to pay compensation of £50 and a collection order has been made.

Another Worcester man, Daniel Hughes, of Edgeworth Close, has pleaded not guilty to vandalising a car on September 27 last year.

Hughes, aged 30, has been remanded on bail until Tuesday, August 25.

Asfandyar Kiani appeared in court charged with possession of cannabis with intent to supply it on September 7, 2019 in Castle Street, Worcester.

Kiani, of Ludstock Close, Worcester, was also in court accused of assaulting a man and stealing his wallet on March 26, 2019.

Kiani, aged 20, will be sent for trial to Worcester Crown Court on August 18 and is on unconditional bail.
