A CHARITY for disabled children is celebrating its 10-year anniversary.

New Hope Worcester Children’s Charity was founded in 2010 by Jean Wilson, who identified the need for the project within the community when she could not find suitable specialist daytime care for her daughter, Emily.

Mrs Wilson said: “When we opened we supported two children and over the years we have grown steadily to now supporting some 50 families.

“The last 10 years has been wonderful watching the children we support grow and develop. It’s a wonderful experience supporting the children to access leisure activities in their community.

"We have been supported by many individuals and organisations over the years and we would like to thank everyone who has played such an important role in the development of New Hope.

“We hope going forward into the future we will be able to support many more families especially because we know from experience how desperately needed our service is.”

The charity posted on its Facebook page: “This anniversary year is proving particularly challenging but as always we will do our best to keep going to do what we do best, enabling our children to enjoy their leisure time and be part of our community. Happy Birthday New Hope!”
