A DEDICATED woman feels "shocked" to have exceeded her fundraising target for her best friend who is fighting terminal cancer.

Emma Claire from Bracknell felt inspired to help her closest friend Lisa Hepworth, after losing her mum to cancer when she was 23-years-old.

She said she understands the pain Lisa's family must be going through and hopes the money will help Lisa share some memories with her six children.

Emma said: "Lisa and her children inspired me to set up the fundraiser. I lost my mum when I was 23 to cancer, she was only 54 so I know how devastating this disease is. Lisa has been battling Cervical Cancer for months but unfortunately she has had the devastating news that it has spread to her bones and is terminal."

The fundraising page has raised a massive £4,511 (over the initial target of £4,000) with the help of donations flooding through from friends and family.

Lisa Hepworth, who worked as a teaching assistant at Crown Wood Primary School, has been battling cervical cancer but recently received the devastating news that it is terminal and has spread to her bones.

Emma said: "I've known and worked with Lisa for many years, she is kind, strong and loves life but most of all she is a very, very special friend.

"Anybody who knows Lisa loves her. This money will mean that she can spend precious time with her six amazing children, making memories that they will treasure forever."
