AN outdoor cinema and a host of live music events will delight Redditch residents from the safety of their cars later this month.

The Drive and Live series will be coming to the car park at the Abbey Stadium Sports Centre from August 14 to August 31.

The programme of drive-in entertainment includes famous flicks Dirty Dancing, Shrek and The Greatest Showman.

There will also be performances from chart topping band Toploader, Britain’s Got Talent performers Circus of Horrors, UK Pink Floyd, The Frankie Valli Story and comedian Tom Binns.

Project leader James Hollamby of UK Events Services said: “It's been fun to work on and deliver this for the people of Redditch and over the next few weeks not only will we be showing cinema classics on our large led video walls but will see live local artists supporting main acts.”

“Creating a safe and socially distanced venue is at the heart of the planning with both drive in areas and uncovered raised seating areas available with the audio being transmitted via the cars FM radio and via headphones to the standing/seating areas.”

The events company is also continuing its commitment to helping local community causes with £1 from every ticket sold and bucket collections going towards local groups.

Tickets range from £10 - £60 per person depending on the show or film and more information can be found on the driveandlive.co.uk website or via Facebook at www.facebook.com/driveandliveredditch
