THUNDERY showers look set to continue throughout the rest of the week and into the weekend, according to the Met Office.

The skies across Stourbridge, Dudley and Halesowen were lit up with spectacular lightning displays last night (Tuesday) and thunder has already begun rumbling across the Black Country this evening (Wednesday).

Met Office forecasters say any thundery showers tonight will die out by midnight – leaving most parts dry with clear spells through the early hours.

It will be a mild and muggy night with 17 °C being the lowest temperatures will fall to.

Thursday morning promises to be dry but cloudy with sunny spells before further thundery showers develop in the afternoon. It will be another very warm/hot day with the minimum temperature expected to be 27 °C.

Thundery showers also look set to persist through to the weekend with a brief interlude of drier conditions on Saturday – with temperatures expected to remain warm.
