A TALENTED city teenager has promised this won’t be the last we see of her after narrowly missing out on a place in the semi final of a reality singing competition.

Lydia Beech’s latest appearance on The Voice Kids was aired last Saturday when it was revealed the 13-year-old, who is blind, had sadly been eliminated at the battle round stage of the contest.

After her performance of Keane’s Somewhere Only We Know, singing with her competitors, Will.i.am said to the former Claines Primary pupil: “It is so magical when you sing - you light up the room.”

Team coach Pixie Lott could only choose one of her three contestants to take through to the next round, and said: “This is the hard decision I have even had to make”, before selecting Rae Harding to go through to the next round.

Following her decision the All About Tonight singer said to the 13-year-old: “You made me so proud” adding the “possibilities were endless” for where her talent could take her.

After the show Lydia told the Worcester News: “I was really pleased how the show went.

"I really enjoyed it.

“Since I was 11 I have wanted to go on The Voice, as they will not turn their chairs (to pick) because I’m blind, they are turning because they like my voice.

“I definitely want to keep singing, and doing music.”

Mum Hannah added: “The Voice team were absolutely brilliant, the care was great, and we had loads of fun doing the show.

“It was a really good experience.”
