ONE person has been taken to hospital for smoke inhalation after a property fire in Barrow.

Crews from Barrow, Walney and Ulverston attended the incident, which Barrow Fire Station reported had involved a kitchen fire, where a pan had been left unattended.

A spokesperson said: "The kitchen is damaged and the property is smoke logged. One person has been taken to FGH suffering from smoke inhalation.

"Again we are urging our community to ensure when cooking please never leave it unattended. Always fit smoke detectors as they save lives."
