WORCESTER Festival 2020 returns this weekend although it will be mostly virtual there is still plenty of family fun to enjoy. 

We will be bringing you the schedule of events every morning until the end of the Festival on August 31. 

Here is what to expect this Saturday.

Start your weekend by judging cakes in The Great Worcester Cake Off with Cookmate. Channel your inner Mary Berry and decide which cake is your favourite on their Facebook page from 9am till 2pm.

Next watch the Mayor of Worcester, Jo Hodges officially open this year’s Worcester Festival from outside the Guildhall, but all from the comfort of your own home! Simply log on to the Festival website at 11am.

Now The Festival is officially in full swing why not try a Cross and Tapestry Stitch Skills Workshop live-streamed from the @Wolly_Works Instagram at 11.30am, or get your kicks by trying the virtual Taekwondo session hosted on Zoom by Worcester Riverside Taekwondo Club. Book your place via the Festival website!

If you are feeling creative this weekend then Meadow Arts are running a Contemporary Art Workshop via their website www.meadowarts.org/events from 2pm. Or local Etsy shop owner Hannah, aka Crafty Carrot Gifts, is showing you how to make your own ‘fire breathing’ dragon on her Facebook page @craftycarrotgifts.

If you’re in the mood for a good story, Tudor House Museum are hosting a Storytelling session on Zoom all about a mysterious bottle found within the walls of the Museum! Catch the tale from 2pm! Pre-booking is essential, please check the Festival website for booking information.

And if you still have some energy left there are over 30 different events available online that will be continuing throughout the next 17 days of the Festival for you to get your teeth into, including City quiz trails, colouring competitions, cake decorating videos, a virtual ghost walk, face painting demonstrations, classical music concerts, and so, so much more!
