ROADS across Worcestershire have been blocked as a result of falling trees caused by high winds as Storm Francis lashes Worcestershire.

In Worcester, the Tything was brought to a standstill after a tree came down near The Talbot.

Police officers were in the road directing traffic around the fallen tree until it could be removed.

The road is no longer blocked, with traffic said to be coping well.

Another fallen tree was reported in Tudor Way, requiring Highways staff to come and clear it.

Highways staff also went to Gazala Drive, Norton, where a tree was reported as uprooted and swaying towards the road.

At Cutnall Green, a tree came down causing the A442 to be blocked for most of the afternoon.

Near Upton, a fallen Hawthorn was reported at Queenhill, causing it to be blocked.

Police and local residents helped remove it from the road to get traffic moving again.
