A MAN in his 30's has died following a fatal crash.

Police are in attendance at a fatal collision on the M50 eastbound near Ledbury.

At around 12.20am this morning (Monday, August 31) a Jeep Cherokee was involved in a crash and a man in his thirties died at the scene.

One lane remains closed but officers and other emergency services are working to reopen it.

A police spokesman said: "Our thoughts are with the man’s friends and family at this difficult time."

At 11am the force said the crash was fatal.

"We are at the scene of a fatal collision on the M50 near Ledbury where two lanes Eastbound are currently closed," police said

"The lanes are expected to be reopened early this afternoon.
Please check before you travel."

Highways England said:

"The M50 in Herefordshire is closed eastbound between J2 and J1 due to serious road traffic collision. All emergency services are currently working at the scene in a response being led by West Mercia Police. 

"West Mercia police are conducting collision investigation works with the carriageway likely to remain closed through the day. 

"Traffic Officers and contractors have installed the strategic closures, please see details below."

Follow the "Solid Square Symbol: 

Exit the M50 at J2 and turn right onto the A417. 

Continue on the A417 until the roundabout with the A40, take the first exit onto the A40

Continue on the A40 until the M5 J11 and rejoin the M5. 

Road users are advised to allow extra time for their journey.
