RECEPTION pupils have been welcomed at Worcester schools.

Pupils at both King’s St Alban’s and King’s Hawford have started their education, following the coronavirus lockdown.

Richard Chapman, headteacher at King’s St Alban’s, said: “We are very excited to welcome all our pupils back to school.

"We have nearly 50 new starters from Reception to Year 6, and we’re very excited to welcome them to the King’s family.

"It’s particularly exciting for our Reception class as this is the first year we have welcomed children from our new Nursery.

“While school assemblies and large gatherings will be temporarily paused, we’re aiming to make things feel as close to normal as we possibly can for all our children.

"Providing a happy, welcoming environment where pupils can thrive academically and discover their passions is at the heart of what we do.

"Our children have been back for half a day but it seems as if they have never been away.”
