A UNIVERSITY has paid tribute to a teacher who 'inspired' students.

Karen Robb died suddenly on Friday (September 4).

Mrs Robb was a class one teacher and Cradley CE Primary School, who also worked in partnership with Worcester University.

Deborah Langston, Primary Partnership Leader and NQT lead in Worcester University’s School of Education, said:

“Over a number of years, Karen Robb was a valued mentor to many initial teacher training students within the University of Worcester’s primary department."

"Karen was known by University colleagues, with whom she worked closely in partnership, to be both a skilled early years teacher as well as a compassionate and dedicated mentor."

"Students flourished under her care and became both competent and caring early career teachers. Karen was also a member of the primary steering committee where she gave freely of her time to support the ongoing development of the University and Schools Partnership."

"On occasion, as a visiting speaker Karen inspired students with her energy and enthusiasm for the teaching profession and she ensured that she made time after sessions to talk to students individually."

"Colleagues at the University will remember Karen as a truly inspirational educator who through her empathy and talent for teaching positively changed the lives of many."

"Our thoughts are with her family, friends and school colleagues at this difficult time.”
