A man from Worcester was handed three separate conditional discharges, as well as being fined after he admitted assaulting three people in Worcester.

Gavin May, of Canalside, Worcester, admitted assaulting the trio on July 11 this year when he appeared in court on September 14.

The 39 year-old was given a six-month conditional discharge for each of the three offences, as well as being fined £133 for assaulting a police officer.

As well as this, he was ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge as well as costs of £135.

He was among recent cases heard at Worcester Magistrates.

Also this week a man from Worcester was fined after admitting possession of cocaine and cannabis in the city.

Mark Newman, of Astwood Road, indicated guilty pleas to two charges: one of possession of cocaine and another possession of cannabis. He was ordered to pay a total of £295 which included fines, a victim surcharge and court costs.

A trial date has been set for a man who denies assaulting a woman in Worcester. 28 year-old Samuel Hicks appeared before magistrates on September 15 charged with assaulting the woman on July 18 this year.

Hicks, of Colne, Lancashire denied the charge, and his trial date was set for October 14 at Redditch Magistrates Court.

A warrant has been issued for a man who failed to appear in court to face charges of using abusive or threatening words or behaviour.

Martin Kubica, of no fixed abode, was due to appear before the court on September 14 but did not attend.

He was due to face two charges: one of using threatening, abusive or insulting words on two men in Worcester on August 1 this year, as well as another charge of having amphetamines in his possession on August 2.

He did not attend, so a warrant was issued for his arrest without bail.
