POLICE have confirmed there have been no updates on the investigation into an assault on a teenage girl a week on from the attack.

Officers appealed for information on the assault that happened at some time between 7.25am and 8.05am on September 14 on a footpath by the side of Laughern Brook that runs between Solitaire Avenue and Oldbury Road.

The suspect was described as a man aged in his mid-40s to 50s, between 5ft 11” and 6ft tall with short black, greying, hair and he was wearing a black top, faded dark blue jeans with holes in the trouser leg and brown walking boots.

City councillor for St John's, Richard Udall, said the community was shocked and angered by the assault, particularly as it had taken place in a normally safe area.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said yesterday there was no further update to report.

They added reassurance patrols were continuing in the area.
