POLICE are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage of a fatal crash on the M50 eastbound near Ledbury.

At around 12.20am on Monday, August 31 a Jeep Cherokee was involved in a crash and a man in his thirties died at the scene.

A police spokesman said: "Our thoughts are with the man’s friends and family at this difficult time."

The emergency services were at the scene after reports of the crash in a response being led by West Mercia Police.

West Mercia's Operations Patrol Unit shared on Twitter shortly after that there was a full closure on the M50 junction 2 - 1 (Ledbury) including junction 2 on slip eastbound.

Highways England closed the motorway eastbound between J2 and J1 due to the serious crash.

The carriageway remained closed throughout the day.

Road users were advised to allow extra time for their journey.
