THREE areas in the city have seen three or more new coronavirus cases recorded in the last week.

Three cases were recorded in Henwick and a further three positive cases were recorded in Warndon East, according to the latest data.

King George’s Field also recorded three cases in the seven days.

Henwick covers many WR2 postcodes including Hylton Road, Hallow Road, Henwick Road and Martley Road. Warndon East covers many WR3 and WR4 postcodes including Blackpole Road and Berkeley Way.

King George’s Field also covers WR3 and WR4 postcodes including parts of Astwood Road, Tolladine Road, Langdale Drive, Brickfields Road and Blackpole Road.

The latest data published by Public Health England shows which areas in the city have recorded three new cases or more in the week between September 11 and September 17 – the latest data available.

Three cases were recorded in Barbourne and Rainbow Hill and three cases were recorded in Ronkswood and Nunnery Wood between September 7 and September 13.

Three cases were recorded in Worcester Town North – the area covering many WR1 and some WR3 postcodes – which includes most of the city centre, Arboretum and Barbourne, between August 31 and September 6.

The figures are split into several ‘middle super output areas’ – which is used by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) – zones that are slightly larger than postcode areas with an average population of around 7,200 people.

Areas with fewer than two cases are not highlighted by Public Health England in its figures.

A total of 2,926 confirmed cases have been recorded in Worcestershire up to September 21, according to latest figures by Public Health England.

Of those cases, 489 have been recorded in Worcester, 292 in Malvern Hills and 534 in Wychavon.

A total of 489 cases have been recorded in Wyre Forest, 650 in Bromsgrove and 472 in Redditch.
