HERE are some of the notable cases heard at Worcester Magistrates Court recently.

A man who failed to pass on driver information to the police in Worcestershire has been fined and handed points to his licence.

Simon Wood admitted failing to provide driver info to officers on March 3 at Hindlip.The 32 year-old, of Trench Lock, Telford, pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared before magistrates in Worcester on September 23.

Wood was fined £200 for the offence, and was also ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £60 in court costs.

He was also given six points on his driving licence.

A Lower Broadheath woman who crashed her car and failed to stop has been fined.

Ellie Brighton, of Church Lane, admitted trying to overtake a lorry in her Audi TT on the A44 in Pershore, crashing headlong into an oncoming vehicle.

The 20 year-old was fined £80, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and court costs of £110.

She pleaded guilty to the offence, of February 2 this year, and was also given six penalty points on her driving licence.

Also at the court, a Droitwich man who crashed his car and drove off after leaving “considerable damage” was fined.

Alec Fellows, of West Street, Droitwich, admitted being the driver of a Ford Fiesta in Lawley Way who, while attempting to turn round, drove into a Range Rover and then fled the scene.

Fellows came to a halt and reversed off the Range Rover before driving off without attempting to exchange details.

The crash was captured on the dashcam of a third-party and when the driver of the Range Rover returned later that day, they found “considerable damage” to the front of the car, which would not start.

Fellows pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a total of £841 in fines, victim surcharges and costs, and given eight penalty points.
