OVER the last few weeks in the Worcester Life Stories project we’ve heard from many local people, sharing their stories and memories in response to the photographs we’ve shared online and in the Worcester News.
The images are taken from the Worcester City Historic Environment Record and part of a collection of around 35,000 historic photographs.
A few of you suggested that they would make a lovely calendar, so we’d like to ask for your help to make that a reality!

Over the next two weeks, we’ll be sharing a handful of images that we hope will trigger lots of happy memories for local people.
Perhaps you have fond memories of visiting Gardner’s Bakery for a cream cake? Or do you remember gliding up the travelator to Blackfriars indoor market?
Lost corner shops: Remember popping out for a pint of milk or some sweets?
A selection of memories will be included in the final printed calendar for 2021 alongside 12 of the stunning historic images from our beautiful historic city.

Worcester Life Stories is a collaborative project bringing local people together through shared stories of the City of Worcester.
It is co-led by Dr Natasha Lord, Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust and Sheena Payne-Lunn, Worcester City Council and funded thanks to National Lottery players.
