FOLLOWING the announcement of the death of popular figure Jeannie Young at the age of 82, people will have the chance to pay tribute to the St Richard’s Hospice joint founder on Thursday, October 1.
A trained nurse, Jeannie was widely respected as one of the founders of Worcester’s St Richard’s Hospice.
She was governor of the charity for 24 years – during which time, as chairman, she oversaw the hospice’s expansion to its current site at Wildwood, the establishment of its 16-bed inpatient ward, and the opening of the hospice’s first fundraising shop.
There will be an opportunity for people to celebrate Jeannie’s life and pay their final respects by lining the main road in Tibberton at 9.15am on Thursday, October 1, as Jeannie makes her final journey.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, Jeannie’s funeral service will be a private family gathering. However, the service will be available to view later on the Tibberton Church website, tibbertonchurch.org.
