6 FLOOD alerts are in place for Worcestershire.

A warning is in place for Strensham and Bredon. It is expected that flooding will affect properties and roads around Mill Lane, Strensham. A peak at Evesham of 2.5m occurred yesterday evening, Sunday 04/10/20 but will remain close to this level, and a predicted peak at Bredon of between 1.8m and 2m is expected overnight tonight, Monday 05/10/20.

A warning is also in place for Wyre Piddle. It is expected that flooding could affect properties and roads in Wyre Piddle, including Wyre Piddle caravan park. Eckington Road maybe impassable.

The river has burst its banks at Evesham park and peaked this morning (October 5). Environmental officer Dave Throup tweeted that "No significant problems are expected."

Alerts are in place for the following areas:

  • Bow and Piddle Brook. River levels remain high but steady at the Besford Bridge river gauge as a result of recent heavy rainfall. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. Flooding is affecting low lying land and roads adjacent to the Brooks from Webheath to Defford. Other locations that may be affected include Crowle, Wickenham, Peopleton, Pinvin and Pershore. Local fords may also be flooded. Further showers are possible until Wednesday 07/10/2020.
  • River Avon in Worcestershire. River levels remain high at the Evesham river gauge but are still rising slowly at Bredon as a result of recent heavy rainfall. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. Flooding is affecting low lying land and roads adjacent the River Avon from Abbotts Salford to Tewkesbury. Other locations that may be affected include Offenham, Evesham, Twyning and the Eckington Road. Mill Bank Road from Jubillee Bridge to Fladbury is impacted. A peak at Evesham of 2.5m occurred yesterday evening, (Sunday 04/10/20) and a predicted peak at Bredon of between 1.8m and 2m is expected overnight tonight, Monday 05/10/20.
  • River Leadon Catchment. River levels remain high at the Wedderburn Bridge river gauge as a result of recent heavy rainfall. The risk of flooding remains. Flooding is affecting low lying land and roads adjacent to the River Leadon. Locations that may be affected include Ledbury, Much Marcle, Staunton and Tibberton. Water may be over the road at Upleadon Court. Further showers are forecast up to Wednesday 07/10/2020. River levels have peaked and will remain steady, with no further rise forecasted.
  • River Lugg south of Leominster. River levels are rising slowly at the Lugwardine river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible throughout today 05/10/20 and overnight. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the River Lugg south of Leominster from Stoke Prior to Mordiford. Other locations that may be affected include Bodenham, Lugwardine and Hampton Bishop. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours and river levels are expected to remain high over the next 24 hours.
