A SOCIALLY distanced and Covid-19 secure circus is coming to town after fears the industry could collapse altogether.

Continental Circus Berlin are assuring people that the show will go on. (As long as people are not sat in bubbles more than six.)

The circus brings its 'sensational new show' to Sixways Stadium next week and as a special thank you to NHS staff and care workers will be offered free tickets to a special preview show.

This preview show will take place in a theatre style big top at 7pm on October 21.Workers are asked to call 0203 375 3970, to confirm their attendance.

In early July circus performers from around the UK marched to Downing Street in a peaceful demonstration to deliver a letter from The Association of Circus Proprietors to the Prime Minister calling for inclusion in the government’s arts rescue plan or the right to reopen, and warning that the sector could collapse in as little as two weeks without support.

It was Dr Haze the creator of The Circus of Horrors and the director of Continental Circus Berlin who hand delivered the letter.

Circuses can now reopen, but only if the environment is covid secure.

Dr Haze said: "We have worked really hard to to keep everyone safe.

"The venue capacity has been reduced from 1350 to 550 to allow for social distancing. There is a one way system operating inside the big top, it is thoroughly sanitised regularly, there are floor markings and hand sanitising stations everywhere.

"People must to wear face coverings and one person in each group must give their name & phone number for track and trace purposes, the track and trace QR code is also in place for customers to scan."

Continental Circus Berlin will be at Sixways on the following dates:

Thursday 22 - 5pm & 7.45pm

Friday 23 - 5pm & 7.45pm

Saturday 24 - 2pm & 5pm, Special Halloween show at 8pm
