The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Court:

September 30:

CRISTINA COBO, 24, of Hermitage Road, Thatcham, admitted speeding on Cold Ash Hill in the 30mph zone on February 14, 2020. Found to be doing 38mph. Fined £68 and ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge. Three points added to driving licence.

October 1:

MICHAEL JOHN, 37, of Woodman Close, Reading, admitted criminal damage to a cordless phone worth £69 belonging to Thames Valley Police in Reading on February 7, 2020. Fined £100. Also ordered to pay £34 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

KEVIN BROWN, 61, of Church Lane, Reading, admitted drink-driving in The Grove, Twyford, on July 9, 2020. Found to have 55mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Fined £400. Also ordered to pay £40 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 12 months.

JACK BAJER, 54, of Westland, Thatcham, admitted two charges of being the owner or person in charge of a ‘female boxer type dog’ - named Cherry Pie - dangerously out of control and injuring two people (total) in Roman Way on June 4. Given a conditional discharge for 18 months. Made subject to a contingent order that the dog is kept on a lead and muzzled when outside the home and only walked by an able adult to avoid ‘destruction’. Also ordered to pay £381.29 compensation. Must pay £24 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

NIGEL TOMLINSON, 62, of Fifth Avenue, Reading, admitted using threatening or abusive or insulting words of behaviour to cause alarm or distress in Reading on November 25, 2019. Given a community order to comply with a curfew requirement with electronic monitoring for 30 days. Also ordered to pay £95 victim surcharged and £250 court costs.

TIA DRENNAN, 18, of Yattendon Road, Thatcham, admitted drink-driving in Bear Lane, newbury, on July 4, 2020. Found to have 87mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Fined £120. Also ordered to pay £34 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 22 months.

KELLY STACEY, 31, of Hearn Road, Reading, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Drovers Way, Woodley, on July 15, 2020. Fined £40. Also ordered to pay £34 victim surcharge and £40 court costs.

JOHN MORING, 49, of Hearn Road, Reading, convicted of three charges of common assault of a police officer acting in the exercise of their duties in Woodley and Earley on August 27, 2019. Fined £360. Also ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge and £240 court costs. 

October 2:

RICHARD HISCOCK, 26, of Russell Street, Reading, admitted stealing two bottles of gin worth £32 from Marks and Spencer in Reading on August 5, 2020. Also admitted stealing two bottles of Smirnoff Vodka worth £42 from Sainsbury’s in Reading on October 1, 2020, and convicted of a further offence while subject to a suspended sentence for previous offence of three theft charges and theft by finding. Sentenced to 18 weeks in prison suspended for 18 months due to severity of offence. Ordered to pay £32 victim surcharge.

JACOB PETERS, 34, of St Peters Road, Reading, admitted drug-driving in Middlefields, Twyford, on May 11, 2020. Found to have cannabis in his blood. Fined £120. Also ordered to pay £34 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 12 months.

DIPEN GURUNG, 25, of Corbridge Road, Reading, admitted drink-driving in Coventry Road, Reading, on August 13, 2020. Found to have 73mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Fined £500. Also ordered to pay £50 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 20 months.

NICOLAE BELDEA, 31, of Kentwood Hill, Reading, admitted drink-driving in Oxford Road, Reading, on May 24, 2020. Found to have 71mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg. Fined £120. Also ordered to pay £34 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 20months.
