HERE are the latest infection rates for the county with cases rising in most areas, according to new figures.

The infection rate increased in Worcester, Wychavon, Bromsgrove and Redditch in the week up to October 17 – compared to a week earlier – whilst it fell in Malvern and Wyre Forest.

In the week up to October 17, 596 cases were recorded in the county according to figures provided by Public Health England.

The infection rate in Worcester was 85.9 per 100,000 people with 87 cases recorded in the city in the seven days up to October 17 compared to an infection rating of 82 in the previous week.

The infection rate in Wychavon was 81.9 with 106 cases compared to 68.8 a week earlier.

The highest infection rate in the county was in Bromsgrove where it increased to 169.2 per 100,000 people with 169 cases recorded in the week up to October 17. The infection rate a week earlier was 127.2 per 100,000 people.

The infection rate in Redditch was 118.5 compared to 88 a week earlier with 101 cases recorded in the seven days up to October 17.

The infection rate in Malvern was 66.1 with 52 cases compared to 83.9 a week earlier.

Wyre Forest recorded an infection rate of 80 with 81 cases in the week compared to a rating of 110.6 a week earlier.
