A trust has hit out at fly-tipping at the top of the Malvern Hills.

We revealed how a Waitrose trolley had been padlocked to the trig point at Worcestershire Beacon which is at a height of 425 metres - the highest point on the Malvern Hills and only accessible by foot.

A spokesman for the Malvern Hills Trust said: “We’re disappointed to see the wonderful landscape of the Malvern Hills spoilt in this way and our staff have had to spend time and resources removing this fly-tipped trolley.”

The trolley was removed yesterday by wardens, as soon as it was reported to the trust [October 27].

Members of a Facebook community page for Malvern, where the image was posted to, commented on the illegal act.

Mark Gill: "Resisting impulse to swear about the idiots who did this."

Gerry Davies: "Those all locks are not cheap, hopefully they will be caught when they come to retrieve it."

Mike Lane: "Too many morons roaming the Earth."
