THE pandemic has had a huge effect on fireworks displays in the county with many being cancelled due to restrictions.

The planned social distanced drive-in display at Sixways will still go ahead, but the event has been brought forward by two days from its originally planned November 7.

A spokesman for Sixways said: “We have decided to bring our fireworks event forward to Wednesday ahead of the new lockdown measures. All risks have been considered and we are confident it is a safe event for all to enjoy.

"We are sending everyone off into lockdown with a bang!

“All cars will have space for passengers to exit the vehicle and stand to the driver’s side of the vehicle. This is to ensure no contact with passengers from another vehicle."

However tight restrictions will still be in place to keep everyone safe.

The spokesman added: “We will not be selling any refreshments or catering onsite to stop the need for anyone to move around, therefore people are welcome to bring their own refreshments in their own vehicles, we just ask for them to take their litter away with them.

"Tickets that have already been purchased for this event will be automatically transferred to the new date.

"If you unable to attend the new date you will shortly receive an email outlining information on how you can request a refund."
