MCDONALD’S has confirmed there are no plans for a new restaurant in Droitwich.
Rumours had been circulating that the fast food giant was looking to open an outlet in the town, potentially in the High Street, that would be addition to the popular Wychbold restaurant.
A lighthearted post on the Spotted Droitwich Facebook group, where a person pretended to be a franchisee interested in opening a restaurant, also gained a massive response.

We asked the company if there was any truth in rumours, but a spokesman responded by saying “I’m afraid there are no plans for a restaurant in Droitwich”.
Two years ago the company withdrew plans to open a restaurant in Perdiswell after a backlash as that site was near a new school.
Plans for an outlet in Bromsgrove has also appeared to have stalled, after plans for a site there were submitted.
