TRIBUTES have been pouring in for the work postal and delivery workers are doing for the Malvern community amid the pandemic.

Posting on the Facebook community group ‘Malvern Hills Display Board (UK), many residents have left messages of thanks.

Therese Taundry said: “Clive always goes above and beyond and always has a cheeky grin.”

David Cresswell said: “Amazon delivery drivers, without a doubt. Their dedication has meant that older folks like us have not had to go out into shops and we have now almost completed the Christmas shopping for our eight grandkids entirely online.”

Gill Murphy said: “All the Amazon drivers who have helped to deliver all the random purchases throughout lockdown.”

Jacqui Tompkin said: “Thank you to all our posties.”

Lorraine Kerley said: “Posties do an amazing job.”

Margaret Price said: “Definitely posties, but everyone that’s working through, thank you all.”

David Cresswell said: “We have had a first-class postal service in Welland from day one of the pandemic.”

Val Bumphrey said: “Postmaster/mistress and their staff who have kept the network going regardless.”

Royal Mail said its staff were continuing to work during “unprecedented times”.

A Royal Mail spokesman said: “We have been inundated with messages and pictures from our customers across the country in praise of the extra lengths our postmen and women have been going during the coronavirus crisis to raise spirits, and money for local charities.

“The delivery of parcels and letters is a way of keeping the country together, businesses operating, and helping many people who may not have the option to leave their homes.

“We know that local communities really value what our postmen and women are doing in these challenging times, and we’re really proud of them, too.

“We continue to work hard to collect, process and deliver the UK’s mail in unprecedented times.”

Royal Mail is also a "key partner" in the delivery and return of coronavirus tests.
