THE city’s coronavirus infection rate fell last week, according to the latest figures.
Worcester’s infection rate was 222.6 cases per 100,000 people in the week up to November 17 - down from 269.7 cases per 100,000 people in the previous week.
A total of 229 cases were recorded in Worcester in the seven days to November 17 compared to 273 cases in the week up to November 10.
Worcestershire’s infection rate was 216.4 cases per 100,000 people.
The latest figures published by Public Health England show the state of the city and the rest of the county during the second week of a national lockdown.
Infection rates also fell in Wychavon, which includes Evesham and Pershore, and Malvern Hills.
The rate in Wychavon was 140.6 cases per 100,000 people compared to 180 cases per 100,000 people in the previous week.
The infection rate in Malvern Hills fell to 96.6 cases per 100,000 people compared to 123.3 a week earlier.
A total of 76 cases were recorded in Malvern Hills during the week compared to 97 a week earlier.
The highest infection rate in Worcestershire was in Redditch which had a rate of 314.3 cases per 100,000 people in the week up to November 17.
The rate in Redditch fell from 335.4 cases per 100,000 people in the week up to November 10.
A total of 268 cases were recorded in Redditch in the week up to November 17 compared to 286 a week earlier.
Bromsgrove's infection rate was 255.3 cases per 100,000 people during the same period compared to 276.3 a week earlier.
The town saw 255 cases recorded in the week up to November 17 compared to 276 cases in the week up to November 10.
The infection rate in Wyre Forest according to the latest figures was 275.4 cases per 100,000 people - down from 263.6 cases per 100,000 people in the previous week.
