SIR – I read the report, Walkers reminded we are in lockdown, with some puzzlement.
I am a local resident and regular walker on the Malvern Hills and as it happens I was walking from British Camp last Sunday.
I have to say that I wasn’t in the least ‘alarmed by what I was seeing’. I didn’t encounter any traffic problems or lack of social distancing; all I saw were families getting out and about in the fresh air enjoying themselves
As for Dr Kathryn Cobain suggesting that our hills and commons might be closed again, how stupid is that?
Walking in the open air on the hills and commons is a great boost to our physical and mental health, and people should be encouraged out more, not threatened with further restrictions, which will further damage our health and will not in any way help to spread the virus.
