A CAR has been towed away in Worcester after the owner mistakenly thought the insurance 'auto-renewed'.

The photo of the car being loaded onto a tow truck in Copenhagen Street, Worcester was taken today by a city officer. Without realising it, the owner had been driving without any insurance for three months police said. As a result officers had no choice but to seize the vehicle.

A spokesman for South Worcestershire Local Policing Area, part of West Mercia Police, said: "Thought that the insurance auto renewed, it didn’t.

Nearly three months of driving without it."
