The boar's head was commonplace at Christmas feasts in the Middle Ages
A CHRISTMAS feast in the Middle Ages was not complete without the boar's head.
This animal was respected as an warrior animal, just like a knight in combat.
There was even a carol sung to accompany the bringing in of the boar's head to the feast.
