TWO men have been arrested and cannabis plants have been seized after a police raid in Worcester.

Officers searched the house in Wyld's Lane and found a large cannabis grow "spanning almost every room".

Following the search two men, aged 34 and 36 were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug (cannabis) and are in police custody.

Police Sergeant Paul Smith said: "Once inside the property it was clear to us it was a large and professional operation.

"As a result of the operation, we seized a substantial amount of plants and growing equipment which will now be destroyed.

"We believe this house was being used as part of a wider Serious Organised Crime (SOC) operation and working with our community and colleagues we will continue to disrupt and dismantle their illegal and exploitative operations.

"Acting on information from the community we have disrupted these cannabis cultivations which is part of Protect – our response to tackling serious and organised crime."
