FORMER Bowbrook House School pupil and local businessman, Ben Tanner along with his mother, Nikki Rogers, of AA Salt Services Ltd, have sponsored 30 trees as part of their campaign to offset their company CO2 emissions.
Year Nine pupils were also involved, as they have been planning an eco-friendly area for the school and wider community to enjoy.
James Auden, teacher at Bowbrook House School, said: “This has been a very thoughtful and wonderful opportunity all round.
“On the one hand I have had a chance to see Ben, whom I taught as a child and see how he has flourished into a successful, local businessman.
“On the other, Bowbrook gets a chance to collaborate with a local business. Also this initiative is another contribution in helping to ensure generations enjoy a greener environment.
“The trees planted include old English oak, rowan and silver birch – all trees with different personalities to enhance the local landscape.’
