POLICE have been at the scene today where a truck drove in the wrong direction on the A449 and hit three men, before being abandoned.

The three men, who suffered serious leg injuries, were taken to hospital after the incident that happened in Crossway Green, Stourport, at 10.45pm last night.

Throughout today (Saturday) police have been at the scene and cordoned off a section of the southbound carriageway, before the turn off for the Travelodge.

Forensic officers could be seen loading items onto a white van, while a number of police vehicle have been in the area that is reduced to one lane to passing traffic.

There was also police activity on the other side of the carriageway with a vehicle spotted being loaded onto a car carrier trailer.

Police have described it as a 'violent incident' and have appealed for a passing motorist who stopped to help during the incident to come forward.
