A MAN who assaulted a woman twice in Worcester has avoided jail, being handed a suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty to the attacks.
Joseph Payne appeared before magistrates in Worcester on December 10 where he faced two charges of assaulting a woman in the city on November 13 and 15 this year.
The 27 year-old, of All Saints Road, Worcester, pleaded guilty to the charges, and was handed an 18-week prison sentence suspended for two years on both counts.
Magistrates also imposed a number of conditions which mean Payne, who was represented by duty solicitor Jason Patel, must attend 35 rehabilitation activity requirement days under supervision.
He must also carry out 100 hours of unpaid work, again under supervision.
The court also decided to make Payne pay a £128 victim surcharge and court costs of £135.
