A DEFIBRILLATOR which was reported as stolen is no longer being treated as such.
The defib had been reported as stolen from Lower Moor, Pershore, but a parish council spokesman confirmed this was not the case.
It had been reported as stolen because its case had been opened with no sign of where it had gone, but the council discovered on
December 22 that it had been removed in order to be used on a patient and was in fact not stolen.
The council reported it as stolen in the interim before they found out what had actually happened to it.
Because of this, the "theft" is no longer being investigated.
When initially reported on December 21, Inspector Tanya Beckett for the Safer Neighbourhood team covering Pershore, called it a "terrible crime" which could be "the difference between life and death for someone".
