POWER supply has resumed at 147 addresses opposite Worcestershire Royal Hospital which had been without electricity for 12 hours.

Shortly after 2pm today (Sunday, December 27), Western Power Distribution connected a generator as a stop-gap while an underground problem which affected WR5 postcodes gets resolved.

Supply was returned to 49 addresses at 3.18am but all were back off supply by 8am.

A spokesperson for Western Power Distribution said: "There has been an ongoing low-voltage fault.

"We had six people on site and one generator was connected up to restore the last few customers."

No timescale was offered over how long the temporary solution would be in place for but digging personnel have been sent out to begin work.

The postcodes affected were WR5 1HG, WR5 1JB, WR5 1JD, WR5 1JE, WR5 1JN, WR5 1JW, WR5 1SH, WR5 1SN, WR5 1SP, WR5 1SQ and WR5 1SR.
