OVERNIGHT snow has brought with it a series of traffic problems across Worcester and the surrounding area.

A lorry has been reported as stuck on the slip road to come off the southbound M5 at junction seven for Worcester.

An earlier collision entirely closed the northbound M5 between junction five for Bromsgrove and 4A for the M42 but it was reopened by 7.17am.

The A443, the road heading towards Holt Fleet, is reportedly blocked by three lorries stuck at Little Witley.

Roads confirmed as closed by Worcestershire Highways include:

• A38 from Martin Hussingtree to Copcut - road blocked due to lorries being stuck

• A449 near to Castle Road, Cookley - vehicles are stuck along the route

• A lorry is stuck on A449 Crossway Green by Mitre Oak, causing delays.

• Hindlip Lane, off Pershore Lane - closed

• A38 Westlands island, near Droitwich - closed due to jack-knifed lorry.

• Kerswell Green Road, Kerswell Green - closed

There has been an impact on bus services too.

First Bus has confirmed that the 35, serving City Centre, Brickfields and Blackpole, is not in operation “due to heavy snowfall” and the 44 will terminate at Barnards Green, missing out Great Malvern and Link Top.

The 144, 30 and X50 services are running normally.

There are as yet unconfirmed reports of the A4440 between the Swan and St Peters roundabouts being blocked by an accident with one commuter saying traffic is at a “standstill” with “drivers out of their cars”.

Many roads around that area are heavy with traffic according to the latest data from Google Maps.
