THE number of Worcestershire residents who died with Covid-19 mentioned on the death certificate in all settings during the pandemic has reached nearly 750, new data shows.

There were 32 Covid-19 deaths recorded across all settings in Worcestershire in the latest week of data made available.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures, for the week ending January 1, show the deaths included two Worcester residents, one in hospital and one in a care home.

Five Wychavon residents died; all in hospital, while three Malvern residents died; two in hospital and one in a care home.

Eight Wyre Forest residents died, four in hospital, three in a care home and one at home.

Seven Bromsgrove residents died, six in hospital and one at home.

And seven Redditch residents died that week, six in hospital and one in a care home.

This latest ONS data means that, in total, 748 people in Worcestershire classed as having Covid-19, had died up to January 1.

A total of 87 Worcester residents have died including 46 in hospital, 32 in a care home, four at home, three in a communal establishment and two in a hospice.

A total of 171 people in Wyre Forest have died including 106 in hospital, 50 in a care home, 11 at home, two in a communal establishment, one in a hospice and one elsewhere.

A total of 164 Bromsgrove residents have died including 96 in hospital, 61 in a care home, four elsewhere, two at home and one in a communal establishment.

In Wychavon 157 people have died including 84 in hospital, 54 in a care home, eight at home, six in a communal establishment, four in a hospice and one elsewhere.

A total of 108 people from Redditch have died including 86 in hospital, 19 in a care home, two at home, and one in a communal establishment.

And 61 people from Malvern have died including 35 in hospital, 23 in a care home, two at home and one in a communal establishment.
