A JURY in a murder trial is set to begin hearing evidence today.

Mohammed Hussain, 24, from Oakfield Drive, Rednal, Birmingham and Faisel Fiaz, 20, from Millsbro Road, Redditch are charged with murder and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Colton Bryan, 22, was killed at his home in Guinness Close, Headless Cross on July 15 last year.

On Monday the jury of six men and six women was sworn in.

The murder trial was adjourned until Wednesday to give legal counsel further time to 'distil some of the issues'.

The case is listed for court room one this morning, but the jury are not expected in before 2pm.

Also in court room 1 Samuel Walker's trial continues.

In court room 2 the trial of Kavan Irvine, 26, of Mavis Road, Longbridge, is set to get underway.

Irvine is accused of drug offences - supplying heroin, cocaine, and possession of heroin and cocaine.

Also in court room 2 Rhys Bevan-Jones is expected for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

Not all cases that appear on the list are of interest to the public or press. They include bail applications, administrative hearings and mentions.

One of the courts, court room 2, is remote which means parties including barristers and defendants appear over videolink rather than in person. Many of court room 2 cases are administrative hearings.
