A BRAVE Worcester school boy who captured the heart of the nation is one year cancer free today.

Oscar Saxelby-Lee, received the test results earlier today confirming that he has been cancer free for exactly a year - despite being hospitalised on New Year Eve.

His Mum, Olivia Saxelby posted this inspiring update on the Hand in Hand for Oscar Facebook page – a fundraising platform which helped the Worcester schoolboy get treatment for leukaemia in Singapore that was not available on the NHS.

It read: "After being so poorly these past few weeks and reliving the fears he so longed to part from, he began to curl up into himself.

"He’d even gone as far as questioning whether the disease that once ruled his life was back in his body.

"It has been ever so tough for him with lots of things happening and changing since New Year. "He still has what feels like a million appointments and procedures to endure yet, but he sure is getting back to full strength!

"Who would have thought?!

"A boy who’s life was deemed no longer, to a boy, who proved his right to live!"
