SIR – As a person of a “certain age”, I received a text message from the NHS before Christmas offering me a flu vaccination.
I chose to turn down this generous offer and texted back the message “DECLINE” as instructed. I assumed that this would be the end of the matter.
Today I received a letter from the NHS offering me a flu vaccination.
While I appreciate that the NHS are making the effort to show an interest in my health, I do wonder if they are wasting the money (how many letters have been sent out at what cost?) and resources (how many hours does it take to send the text messages and letters?) which we are constantly being told are so short.
Surely if I want a flu vaccine it is my responsibility to contact the NHS to arrange one?
