ONE of Worcester's most regularly flooded roads will close again tonight as authorities brace for a deluge.
Hylton Road will be closed from tonight with a contraflow system likely to be put in place as rainwater from Wales moves down the Severn towards Worcester.
Worcestershire County Council highways chief Jon Fraser confirmed the news in a video shared via the council's social media.
In the video, he said: "We saw lots of rain a few days ago from Storm Christoph, and that has started to work its way down into the river.
"There is a big pulse of water moving down and we had to close the bridge at Bewdley.
"It will work its way down towards Worcester so we have to put some closures into Worcester City."
Mr Fraser confirmed there will be a full closure of Hylton Road and a return to the contraflow system seen in New Road and Tybridge Street during last winter's floods.
Though he did not say when Hylton Road will be closed, he said he would provide an update later in the day confirming the exact timings of the measures.
