THERE were a further 75 Covid-19 deaths in all settings in one of the deadliest weeks of the pandemic, new data shows.

The latest Office for National Statistics (ONS) all settings figures for the week ending January 15 show the majority of deaths, 59, were hospital deaths, while 14 county people died at a care home where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

The ONS data shows the deaths included 22 Worcester residents, 16 in hospital, four in a care home, and two at home.

Sixteen Malvern residents died, 12 in hospital and four in a care home, while 10 Wychavon residents died, nine in hospital and one in a care home.

Twelve Bromsgrove residents died, 10 in hospital and two in a care home.

Five Redditch residents died, all in hospital, while 10 Wyre Forest residents died, seven in hospital and three in a care home.

These latest ONS figures mean that in total during the pandemic, 886 Worcestershire people classed as having Covid-19, had died up to January 15.

A total of 125 Worcester residents have died including 71 in hospital, 43 in a care home, six at home, three in a communal establishment and two in a hospice.

A total of 191 people in Wyre Forest have died including 120 in hospital, 55 in a care home, 12 at home, two in a communal establishment, one in a hospice and one elsewhere.

A total of 187 Bromsgrove residents have died including 116 in hospital, 63 in a care home, four elsewhere, two at home and two in a communal establishment.

In Wychavon 176 people have died including 101 in hospital, 55 in a care home, eight at home, seven in a communal establishment, four in a hospice and one elsewhere.

A total of 121 people from Redditch have died including 97 in hospital, 19 in a care home, four at home, and one in a communal establishment.

And 86 people from Malvern have died including 53 in hospital, 29 in a care home, two at home, one in a hospice and one in a communal establishment.
