A CLEAN up operation after the recent flooding in the city has begun.

With the flood water starting to recede, Worcester City Council’s teams have gone into action today, to start the big task of washing down the riverside paths that have been flooded. City council staff will be using full PPE while they carry out the work.

Workers are in action today at: Grandstand Road at the rear of the café, Hylton Road lower footpath, near to the old pumping station, Waterworks Road, at the top end of Pitchcroft, and Bromwich Parade, from Worcester Bridge to Weir Lane.

The full clean-up is expected to take several days following the floods after Storm Christoph brought torrential rain last week.

The Covid-19 test site at the University of Worcester, Hylton Road, has also now reopened for students, front line, and public sector workers after it closed last week due to the floods.
